News Update: Rise of the Resistance

On December 5th, 2019, Rise of the Resistance opened in Disney World, and has since been stated as maybe the best ride Disney has made. It consists of a trackless ride system, a drop system, a walking element, and a simulator (It won’t make you sick though). It is about 18 minutes long and follows you, a Resistance recruit, as you get captured by the First Order and fight to get out. The animatronics are so realistic that you can barely tell the difference between them and the actors.

HOW TO GET IN

In order to get into Rise of the Resistance, you must check into My Disney Experience as soon as you scan your thumb at Hollywood Studios. Then, you get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance. Tip: You have to be in Hollywood Studios to get a pass, and they fill up fast, so get there early in the morning.

The Story

In the story of Rise of the Resistance, you’re recruited to join the Resistance, but on your first mission, you get captured! Then, you walk by rows of Storm Troopers and you are put in a jail cell. Soon enough, however, the Resistance arrives to help. You then hop into a trackless ride vehicle as a R5 droid on your side transports you through battle to an escape pod. There, you have go through a small Tower of Terror-like drop before crashing back down to Black Spire Outpost.

In the end, Rise of the Resistance is the most technologically advanced ride Disney has made to date. I would totally recommend going to ride it or watching it on YouTube. All you have to do is search “Rise of the Resistance POV” and you can watch it all. Also, sorry it was a long time since my last post. Anyways, have a magical day!

  1. I know thereโ€™s lots to do at Disney but our favorite thing has always been to ride the rides. That seems like an awesome one! Great post Max!
